Summer is hot and nothing tests better than an iced mocha. But, man, those things get expensive after a while and the joy of drinking one is diminished a bit when you realize how much money you're spending. So, after a few false steps, I think I've found a recipe for an iced mocha that is easy to make at home and darn tasty. My friends who own coffee shops please stop reading.
What you need:
3/4 lb of coffee
8 cups cold water
a pitcher (I use a sun tea jar)
cheese cloth
a strainer (not necessary but handy)
another pitcher
Step 1: Ground the coffee and put it in a pitcher.
Step 2: Pour 8 cups of cold water in pitcher and stir.
Step 3: Place coffee and water in refrigerator for 24 hours.
Step 4: Strain mixture through cheese cloth into other pitcher.
Step 5: Cover top of coffee concentrate and keep in refrigerator until needed.
Here it is in pictures and then a short video to show how I make my particular mocha.

Tomorrow I will give this a try - looks fantastic!!! I used to make that cold brew method of concentrated coffee back in the 80's. I could be saving lotsabucks making my own - thanks for the inspiration.

I don't mean to pick, but where is the whipped topping for heaven's sake? Could we stick it in the blender? I am thinking of chocolate chips for the top with drizzle. We can call it the VONA MOCHA!!! I am getting help from the Drouhards here! When we get together we can create!!! xxoo Nana
